With over 20 years of tissue engineering experience, TETEC AG develops personalised cell therapies for knee cartilage repair to help preserve mobility, independence, and quality of life over time where regenerative medicine is the new standard of care. Learn more by selecting the information that best suits you.

As part of Octane Medical Group, we're working to bring regenerative medicine closer to the patient—by enabling faster, localized production of autologous knee cartilage grafts. Our goal is to one day deliver personalised cell therapy at the point of care and help establish it as a standard part of treatment.
TETEC offers two distinct approaches for knee cartilage repair—each using the patient's own cells: Injectable MACT (Matrix-Associated Autologous Chondrocyte Transplantation) and MACT.

Injectable MACT is a cell-based cartilage-repair procedure in which a patient's own cartilage cells are combined with a hydrogel and implanted into a focal knee cartilage defect [1]. In clinical studies and earlier publications, this approach is also described as hydrogel-based ACI or injectable MACI.

In MACT, the patient's own cells are placed on a collagen scaffold and implanted for the treatment of focal knee cartilage defects [2].
More than 30,000 Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (ACI) procedures—including Injectable MACT and MACT—have been performed to date in Germany by TETEC, using autologous cells to treat focal knee defects [3].
From global scientific societies to leading academic and industry partners, TETEC is recognized and trusted by organisations advancing the future of cartilage repair.
